Five receive January Good to Great awards

Five College of Technology faculty and staff were recognized by Dean Gary Bertoline January 6 as the most recent recipients of the Good to Great award.

Recipients were:

  • Michael Kane, Lonnie Bentley and Tony Smith for their success launching their company, BATS, based on technology they invented. Bentley is a professor and Kane and Smith are associate professors in the Department of Computer and Information Technology.
  • Don Buskirk, associate professor in the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation and the college’s international programs officer, for his leadership in developing the College of Technology’s globalization initiatives.
  • Mike Jacob, the G.W. McNelly Distinguished Professor of Technology, for his individual efforts to recruit and retain diverse students and faculty to his department.

Recipients of the Good to Great Award are involved with endeavors that improve the college’s public image, show a commitment to excellence and demonstrate impact.
