ProSTAR star: Nancy Smigiel

ProSTAR’s newest staff member is Nancy K. Smigiel, administrative coordinator. She may be new to ProSTAR but Nancy has been working at Purdue since 2001 and also is a Boilermaker graduate.

During her tenure at Purdue, Nancy is proud that she earned a bachelor of arts degree in history (with specialization in the history of science and technology) at the age of 40.  Her Boilermaker blood runs deep: her daughter is now a third generation Boilermaker, having started at Purdue this past Fall. She also has a son.

Nancy was raised in Anderson, Ind., where she considered herself a “Remy Rat” (referencing Delco Remy, a huge auto parts supplier in the area). She considers the greater Lafayette area her second home, and ProSTAR is fortunate to have her on the team.

Besides taking care of all the ProSTAR students, Nancy’s hobbies include learning, watching football (college and professional), reading and cooking. Nancy replaced the recently retired Vanna Skipper, who is enjoying traveling and family now.

Nancy is happy to assist anyone and answer any questions about ProSTAR offerings. She can be reached at nks@purdue.edu and 765.496.2604.
