Green ideas solicited for College of Technology

As the college strives to become more sustainable, the dean is encouraging faculty, staff and students to submit green ideas for possible implementation. Organizers of the Green Ideas contest encourage all submissions of creative ideas, collective action and sustainable efforts.

“It’s important that we move our college forward in a sustainable direction in order to show respect to not only our environment but also to future generations,” said graduate student Holly Chan, who is spearheading the contest at the request of Dean Gary Bertoline. “Now is your chance to give input and have your say in where we’re headed. We’d like to implement a handful of green ideas stemming from this contest.”

Prizes will be awarded in four categories:

  • easiest idea to implement
  • most self-sustaining idea
  • most cost-effective idea
  • most innovative idea

Green Idea submissions will be taken through April 13. Winning ideas will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2013. Submit your idea now.
