Bertoline honored for Career Achievement

Gary Bertoline, dean of the College of Technology, received the 2012 Career Achievement Award from the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University (EHE) this spring.
The Career Achievement Award honors EHE alumni who have proven records of career accomplishments and have made outstanding contributions to their professions.
The members of the Education and Human Ecology Alumni Society board of governors selected the honorees for the college awards from nominations of alumni. For Bertoline’s honor, they listed several accomplishments that led to his selection:
- His technical graphics textbook series has been adopted worldwide by educators from kindergarten through college.
- His work in the 1990s set the blueprint for engineering computer graphics curricula for two decades.
- As an administrator, he led the creation of Purdue University’s Envision Center for Perceptualization.
- In Purdue’s College of Technology, he established five master’s degree programs and grew the doctoral program.
Bertoline earned his doctorate in industrial technology education from OSU in 1987.
