Two win construction scholarships

Two students in the building construction management program have received scholarships from MCA (Mechanical Contractors Association) Chicago.
Justin Burkhardt of LaGrange, Ind., is the first recipient of the Jim McCauley Sr. Student Scholarship, worth $2,500. Available to MCA student members from Purdue University and Illinois State University, the scholarship is for students who exhibit a strong interest in mechanical contracting and excellence in his or her studies and extracurricular activities.
Michael Bocian of Willow Springs, Ill., received the $2,500 Herb Kriesman Scholarship, awarded to Purdue students active in the student MCA chapter and enrolled in the mechanical construction management specialization.

It’s great to see students getting scholarships. It’s gives them a sense of pride that they are doing the right thing and bettering themselves with a higher education.
These type of scholarships are rarely regarded by people as a large amount, but for someone like myself who had to work through school to pay tuition, $2500 would have been a huge help to allow me to focus more on my schooling.
Those are great stories. Keep up the great leadership Purdue!
