Let the tours begin!

Hello There! Team Purdue- INhome here.

This week has been a challenging but exciting week. We successfully built a 1000 sq. ft house in 6 days! Not many people can say that, and we are relieved to say that it looks amazing.

This past week we had multiple obstacles that challenged our team, however, we met every task within the time frame that it had to be completed!  A recap of this past construction week:

  • Team begins build at 11pm Tuesday September 13th
  • All 6 major pieces of the home are set within 14 hours
  • Team builds deck
  • Team rebuilds deck, total time spent= 5days
  • Team turns a garage into every man’s dream, tool shelf included
  • Sign placement is completed
  • Landscaping makes every team member’s thumb turn “green”
  • Interior walls/trim/flooring receives a face lift, more beautiful than before!
  • Purdue makes front page of Washington Post- Metro
  • All inspections have been done, we are ready for the Public!

What’s next?

  • Media tours our home tomorrow, Wednesday September 21st
  • Opening Ceremony kicks off entire Solar Decathlon 2011 event
  • Measured contest/Juries to reveal to architecture, affordability, market appeal and engineering of the home
  • Get to meet other teams during Team Open House!
