Semester in Full Swing

Hey guys!
Just wanted to write to you during my small break today. The third week of classes is proving to be my busiest with lots of readings and homework along with helping the Purdue Solar Decathlon team disassemble our house and get it ready for the trip to Washington, D.C. We leave bright and early this coming Monday morning and I can’t wait to get there. I’ll be spending nine days there with the construction crew reassembling our house and getting it ready for the competition. Missing school for that period of time is no easy task and I have coordinated with my professors on how I’m going to make up the work, but it’s definitely possible and I encourage all students to participate in competitions/shows/volunteer opportunities while at Purdue. It makes life more interesting and fun!
Along with classes and the solar powered home I also have a lot of meetings this week and am very excited about all of the organizations I am involved with. Tonight I’m meeting with my fellow College of Technology Ambassadors for our first meeting of the semester. We will be meeting our new ambassadors and discussing what we are doing this semester as an organization. After that meeting I have a meeting with my fellow Sigma Lambda Chi Construction Honor Society members. It’s also our first meeting of the semester and I look forward to hearing about the different community volunteer opportunities we’re going to have this semester.
Anyways I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying this cooler weather. I’m off to a meeting with the Construction Leadership Council to discuss details on how the Building Construction Management department is getting involved in building a haunted attraction. More details to come on that in the next week or so.
I will be blogging about once a day over the nine day period that I’m in Washinton, D.C. to keep everyone up to date on the progress our team is making so be sure to look for more blogs in the near future.
Boiler Up! Hammer Down!
