End of Week 2….

Hi-ya, everybody!
These past 2 weeks flew by so quickly, looking back it’s all a blur! SO much has happened. I’ve had countless hours of homework and meetings for my students orgs every night. Living off campus is definitely different.. and by different I mean annoying! Lol, it has it’s ups and downs. I love the space and having my own bathroom..that’s about it! I start classes at 9:30am every day and some days I get done at 2:30pm, others 5:30pm.. except Tuesdays when I only have 1 class, at 4:30pm, YEAH!! However, when I have those long 9:30am-5:30pm days with meetings directly after from 6pm-8pm, it makes for a LONG and EXHAUSTING day!! I loved the convenience of the residence halls.. I was able to run home between classes and change clothes, eat, and relax or take a nap. Now, I have no where to touch base during the day because my apartment is a 10 minute drive from campus and it’d be a waste of time & gas to make that trip 4+ times a day.. Oh and let me mention EATING again.. if you live in the residence halls, you get 10-20 meals a week (depending on which meal plan you choose – I had 12 my freshman year) in which you can eat in any of the dining courts with just the swipe of your ID card. Once you leave the residence halls, you lose your swipes, which means you’re on your own for meals! It really sucks having to use your credit card or cash if you want to eat during the day. Not to mention those large grocery bills! Just some things to consider when you’re debating about whether to live on or off campus..
I’m wondering how all of your school years have started? I miss high school a lot sometimes! If I could suggest anything to you, GET INVOLVED! I had so much fun playing varsity tennis and participating in my school’s student council! Just take advantage of the free time you have in high school, because it disappears once you get to college! Well, I’m able to successfully complete my schoolwork and handle what I need to for my organizations during the week so I can have my weekends free, but that takes some seriously good time management skills! If your high school is anything like mine was, we didn’t get much homework. Just pay attention, strive, and do your best to not only get by in classes and learn what you need to only until after the test, but to actually learn and retain the information taught. It’ll do you good once you get to college. Has anybody started visiting or applying to college yet?
It is now time for me to log off and finish cleaning my room before I have to pick up my roomie from work! We’re having a movie night tonight, I’m pretty excited to just lay on the couch and chill out after these past few weeks!
Later!
