Wait, what I’m a senior already?

Hey, guys!
Wow, I can’t believe today was my first day of my senior year! Where did the last three years go? I remember moving in as a freshman and thinking to myself that it’s going to be a long four years at Purdue but now with just one year left everything just seems to have moved so fast.
The first day is already over though and with that starts the homework season. I’ve already completed homework that is due for a class tomorrow that I haven’t even been to class yet. Yep that’s college for ya but I love it. Being a senior gives you a little bit more freedom when choosing classes and this semester I don’t have more than 2 classes a day which is a relief from past semesters where I’ve gone from 830-530 with only an hour break. I had a construction safety class this morning and a construction costs class this afternoon and I can tell both will be very beneficial to my career in the construction industry. A lot of classes in the College of Technology are lab driven, which is a great way to actually put to use the information you learn in lecture. But for the first time in my college career I don’t have a single lab this semester…and that is going to free up a lot of my time. But that won’t mean I’ll have free time.
This semester is shaping up to be a busy one. I’m having my first officers meeting tomorrow for the National Association of Home Builders student chapter of which I’m president this year so I have a lot of planning to do for the year. I had a meeting tonight with my fellow Decathletes. The Solar Decathlon which I talked about in my previous blog is coming up fast and we have to be prepared to take our home to Washington DC in just a few weeks…yikes!!! I’ll be blogging about the trip to keep everyone up to date on the progress we’re making so watch in the coming weeks for more blogs. This semester should be a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to my senior year but now I have some more homework to do so I should probably get on that.
